In the third quarter of 2025, the travel and local apps category on the Android platform in Oceania saw notable performances from several key players. Here’s a closer look at the top five apps based on Sensor Tower data.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel maintained a consistent presence in the market. Weekly downloads started at approximately 15K and experienced fluctuations, peaking at 15.4K by the end of September. Active users began the quarter at 485K, with an upward trend, reaching around 564K.

Trip.com: Book Flights, Hotels saw its downloads decrease from 15.8K to around 11K throughout the quarter. Active users also showed a decline initially, from 93K to 69K, before recovering to 82K by the end of September.

Airbnb downloads remained relatively stable, starting at 9K and ending the quarter at 9.7K. The app's active users fluctuated, beginning at 308K, with a noticeable spike to 347K mid-quarter, and closing at 339K.

Virgin Australia experienced a drop in downloads from 9.3K to 7.8K over the quarter. Active users increased from 90K to a peak of 108K, before settling at 97K.

Finally, Qantas Airways had a steady download rate that improved from 7.9K to 8.5K. Active user numbers started at 237K, dipped mid-quarter, and ended with a rise to 240K.
